**URGENT KITTEN SAFETY MESSAGE** Found kittens and not sure what to do?!? Do not bring them to the shelter immediately. The shelter is currently overwhelmed with litters of very young kittens being brought in without their mamas, and it is impacting the safety of these kittens. Please call our staff first so we can help assess the situation and advise on what is best for the kittens.If you have found newborn or young kittens, please leave them alone! Mama cats are very protective of their kittens and rarely abandon them; if you don’t see the mama, they are probably close by their babies and will be back soon. Newborn kittens are especially vulnerable when separated from their mamas, and will struggle to survive without them.Want to help our kittens?!? We are seeing unprecedented numbers of kittens being brought into our shelter. We urgently needs donations of non-clumping kitty litter, wet kitten food, and dry kitten food; donations can be dropped off or shipped directly to our shelter.

Milton Online License

Welcome to the portal to buy or renew your pet’s Milton license online. Please note a few guidelines for using this system:

  • If you are renewing a pet already licensed with us, please follow the directions for renewing rather than creating a new profile.
  • There is a non-refundable $1.25 fee for using the online option.
  • Any dog declared potentially dangerous or dangerous cannot be licensed through this system; instead, contact us at 253-299-7387 and select option 2.
  • The Senior Discount option applies to owners 65+.
  • SERVICE ANIMALS – Do NOT License online:  Call the Shelter
  • Upon completion of online licensing, you may receive an email requesting proof of spay/neuter.

Metro Animal Services is a partnership that shelters, protects and unites the pets and people of seven cities in eastern Pierce County and southern King County.  Metro is operated by the City of Sumner and utilizes a shelter provided by the City of Puyallup.  The Cities of Algona, Bonney Lake, Edgewood, Milton and Pacific participate by interlocal agreement.
